Group Rentals

Host Your Next Adventure at Emerald Bay

Interested in booking a group adventure weekend at Emerald Bay? You don’t have to be a member of Scouting America to enjoy the many experiences Emerald Bay has to offer!

We can provide weekend programming opportunities for all types of youth organizations, including YMCA groups, church retreats, school groups and club functions. We cater exclusively to large youth groups (sorry no individual camping reservations).

To qualify for a weekend booking, we ask that groups meet the following requirements:

  • Groups need to have a 100-person minimum
  • Groups must be comprised of 50% youth participants
  • Groups must be able to provide additional liability insurance (COI)

Reach out today to see if we have availability to book your group’s next Catalina adventure! It’s best to reach out early as group reservations tend to be filled quickly (most groups reserve up to a year in advance).

What do our all-inclusive weekends include?

Our all-inclusive weekend pricing includes transportation to-and-from Long Beach, meal service, weekend programming, and our standard lodging accommodations. Groups can check-in as early as 1:00PM on Friday with a Sunday morning departure no later than 11:00AM. (Departure times vary on boat charter availability).

We do not normally provide lifeguards for groups but can have staff made available to help with equipment in all areas. Activities are typically run “open house” style with scheduled hours Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon. During these open hours, participants are able to freely come-and-go between all areas.

Available weekend activities include:

  • Hiking
  • Aquarium tours
  • Snorkeling
  • Paddle boarding
  • Kayaking
  • Archery and/or BB guns
  • Campfire ring / Amphitheater
  • Ship’s Store

For exclusive use of camp, a group needs to have a minimum of 250 participants. If your group is under 250 people, keep in mind that you may be sharing your weekend with other groups. Generally, we ask for a minimum of 100 participants to meet our transportation requirements for a direct boat charter to camp.

What if I have a small group?

Don’t have 100 people? No problem! Some weekends may have room for smaller groups to add-on to an existing weekend by staying in our campsites. Our campsites include 2-person tents with cots and mattresses. Tent campers will have access to all the same program activities during the weekend. For individual families, we also host our Family Camp weekends twice a year in March and November where cabins are available. This is a perfect opportunity to share Emerald Bay with your loved ones!

What kind of meal service is included?

Our standard all-inclusive pricing includes Friday dinner to Sunday breakfast (5 meals total). Our standard menu varies depending on availability with our food vendors, though groups can also opt for upgraded meals at an additional per person (per meal) cost. Keep in mind each meal must be upgraded as an entire group, not by individual. For more details on our meal upgrade menu, please reach out to our Program Director (contact info above).

What kind of lodging is available during my stay?

The base cost of camp includes access to 2-person tents in our campsites, along with lodging in our 8-person cabins (when available). Both the cabins and campsite have access to single-stalled bathroom/shower facilities nearby. We also have housing upgrades available at additional cost:

Beach-front Housing:
Charthouse: 3 rooms (1 queen bed, 1 full bed, 5 twins)
Lighthouse: 2 rooms (1 queen bed, 4 twins)
Eagles Nest: 2 rooms (1 queen bed, 4 twins)
Villa House: 3 rooms (1 king bed, 1 full bed, 2 twin beds w/ full kitchen+ hot tub)

Upgraded housing is reserved on a first-come first-serve basis, so it’s best to reserve them asap as these spaces fill up quickly. Photos of our facilities and upgraded housing can be found at: https://www.campemeraldbay.org/camp-emerald-bay-facilities/

Camp owned boat moorings are also available for rent (depending on availability). However, the nightly rental cost is contingent upon the size of the boat
